Yesterday morning, Dori passed away. Her passing was swift and she was well prepared. Over the past week and a half, she said her final goodbyes to her family and to many of her closest friends. Having recently spent time in a nursing home and in the hospital, she had wanted to go her heavenly home from her earthly home, and God granted her desire. She passed away peacefully in her home with her husband and son by her side.We will certainly miss Dori, but we are thankful that we have many fond memories of her and all the good times we have had for well over 45 years as family friends.

There will never be another Dora on this earth. She was so in love with the Lord and what he could do. She never had a mean thing to say about anyone and never said anything bad about someone else. She so loved the Lord and just couldn't wait to go home and be with my Mom and my Aunt Faye and her Mother...and of course God. She talked about that day as being one big party for the girls, she would just laugh and said oh I just can't wait till that day comes, and I am so ready for it! I love you Dora and I always thought of you as being my second mom...Love you always and forever....Jenny
ReplyDeleteI have never met someone who was always happy no matter what life threw her way, she always came out with a smile and a Glory to God!
The Bible talks about rejoicing when a loved one goes to heaven, so I'm glad that your friend got to go. I'm sorry for your loss, but glad she's with the Lord.
ReplyDeleteDora was always sweet and always the same whenever you saw her. I wonder if she and your mom are catching up on old times.
ReplyDeleteI gave Dori a message to give to mom. She said she would :o)
ReplyDeleteWhen they talked about Dori just wanting to go home, I couldn't help but think that your mom must have sent her a party invitation. Such good friends are hard to come by.
